Government approves 2010 budget draft

SANA'A,Nov.24(Saba)- The cabinet approved on
Tuesday the state public budget draft at local and central levels and budgets
drafts of
economic and independent units and the private funds budgets for 2010.
The government estimated the total budgets of the public economic sector units for
2010 at more than YR2.7 trillion ($1=YR205),while the surplus of the productive
public
sector units' current activity for the same year has been estimated at over YR149.7
billion including YR89.7 billion which is the government's share from the total
surplus.
The total resources of the country's public budget for the fiscal year 2010 has
been estimated at more than YR1.5 trillion from the various income resources, with
a net
deficit of 7.7 per cent of the gross domestic product which amounted to over YR6.3
trillion.
The overall deficit of the productive public sector current activity for 2010 is
estimated at more than YR 3 billion and the government's contribution to these
units' budgets
projects reached about YR128.5 billion.
The cabinet directed Ministers of Legal Affairs and State for Parliamentary and
Shura Council Affairs to coordinate with Minister of Finance for referring the
budget draft
to the parliament for completing constitutional measures required for final approval.
The total public budget for the fiscal year 2009 amounted to 1, 5 trillion from
different income resources while the public expenditure was about YR 1, 9 trillion.
The net
deficit of the budget for the year had been estimated at 7% percent of domestic
gross product.
