PRESIDENT BELIEVES POLICE, AGO TO FOLLOW UP HIS STATEMENT
Ambon, Nov 25 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono believes the police and the attorney general's office will in the days ahead take certain decisions on the case of antigraft (KPK) officials Bibit Samat Rianto and Chandra M Hamzah, his spokesman said.
Julian Aldrin Pasha said when accompanying the head of state in his working visit to Ambon on Wednesday that the substance of the President's speech on Monday (November 23, 2009) was very clear for the police and the attorney general's office in regard to the case of Bibit Samat Rianto and Chandra M Hamzah.
"I think the police and the attorney general's office were already responsive and their response is swift. Hopefully, in the next few days there will be follow-ups," he said.
He said the national police headquarters and the attorney general office have given positive and quick response after the President unveiled his stance on the case.
"However process would possibly still be needed by the two offices have to take before taking decisions," he said.
Julian said the substance of the President's speech was clear and "I think the attorney general's office understands what the speech means and is aimed at."
