Seoul shares up 0.29 pct late morning
SEOUL, Nov. 26 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 4.64 percent higher late
Thursday morning, bolstered by strong U.S. markets and bargain hunting, analysts
said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 4.64 points to trade
at 1,616.75 as of 11:20 a.m.
Foreign investors hunted for bargains after Wall Street shares finished at a
13-month high on Thursday with materials and consumer discretionary leading the
gains. Blue-chip stocks gathered ground across the board with steelmakers heading
the gains.
The local currency was trading at 1,153.8 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., down 0.5 won from Wednesday's close.
