New Saleh dialogue call soon
SANA'A, Nov. 26 (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah Saleh
is to announce later today a new initiative for a comprehensive national dialog
among the
political forces.
The initiative would be announced as Saleh addresses the nation on the November
30th anniversary in Yemen's business capital of Aden on Thursday night.
The September 26 weekly said that Saleh will urge the political forces to work
together to build the country under the national principles, first and foremost
protecting
the national unity and republican system.
The civil society organizations would be part of the dialog, the weekly said,
pointing to Saleh's calls for dialog to deal will all national issues and putting
the state
interests above other interests.
Meanwhile, deliberations have got underway between the ruling party and opposition
over resuming the political dialogue according to a February deal.
A source at the ruling party, the General People's Congress Party, has expected the
next few days to see invitations to resume dialogue among the political spectrum
over
issues contained in the deal, topped by constitutional amendments in an attempt to
promote democracy, establish a two legislative chamber system and a wide municipal
governance,
and develop the electoral system.
