RF, Japan oil companies agree on liquid fuel production from gas.
26/11 Tass 216
IRKUTSK, November 26 (Itar-Tass) -- Two oil companies from Russia and
Japan agreed to implement a project on liquid fuel production from natural
gas in the Irkutsk Region. The Japanese Oil, Gas and Metals National
Corporation (JOGMEC) and the Irkutsk oil company signed the corresponding
agreement on Thursday.
In the course of 2010 the partners will draft a feasibility study of
the project on synthetic fuel production from gas and will consider all
variants for building a liquid fuel plant, the press service of the
Irkutsk oil company told Itar-Tass. "There are no equals to such
production in Russia," the press service reported.
Currently JOGMEC and the Irkutsk oil company are engaged in the joint
geological prospecting at three hydrocarbon deposits in northern Irkutsk
region - Severo-Mogdinsky, Bolshetirsky and Zapadno-Yaraktinsky deposits -
with the overall potential reserves of 28 million tonnes of oil and 112
billion cubic meters of gas.
The produced oil will be forwarded to the specialized seaport Kozmino
in the Primorsky Territory along the East Siberia-Pacific oil pipeline and
then loaded into tankers, while under the innovative project gas will be
processed at the site.
