Seoul shares down 2.49 pct in late morning
SEOUL, Nov. 27 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks were trading 2.49 percent lower
late Friday morning as debt concerns in Dubai ripped through financial market,
analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) fell 39.77 points to
trade at 1,559.75 as of 11:20 a.m.
The market's decline followed reports that Dubai World, the UAE-owned holding
company, sought debt payments and heightened anxiety worldwide about the
stability of the global economic recovery.
The local currency changed hands at 1,167.45 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., down 12.15 won from Thursday's close.
