S. Korean weightlifter Jang grabs fourth straight world title

GOYANG, South Korea, Nov. 28 (Yonhap) -- Beijing weightlifting gold medalist Jang
Mi-ran of South Korea set a world record as she claimed her fourth straight world
championship title on Saturday.
The 26-year-old lifted 187 kilograms in the clean and jerk, breaking her own
earlier world record by a kilogram, and 136 kilograms in the snatch for a total
of 323 kilograms at the 2009 World Weightlifting Championships in Seoul's
northern suburban city Goyang.
Jang has dominated the super-heavyweight event of the competition since 2005,
becoming the third woman ever to win four consecutive world titles.
"It is a truly great honor, and I'm grateful," Jang told a local television station.
Russia's Tatiana Kashirina finished second by lifting a total of 303 kilograms.
