THREE QUAKES JOLT MALUKU
Bandarlampung, Nov 29 (ANTARA) - Three earthquakes jolted Maluku province from Sunday morning to Sunday night with an average magnitude of over 5 on the Richter scale, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics office (BMKG) said.
According to the BMKG, the first earthquake struck 3.40 am with a magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was located 2.75 degrees southern latitude and -128.76 degrees eastern longitude at a depth of 26 km, some 118 km northeast of Ambon.
At 12.12 pm Western Indonesia Time (WIB), another tremor shook the province with a magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter scale, located about 7.13 degrees southern latitude and -13-.76 degrees eastern longitude at a depth of 10 km. It was about 112 km southwest of Saumlaki (Maluku).
The other aftershock occurred at 19.29 WIB. Its epicenter was located 0.47 degrees northern latitudue and -126.13 degrees eastern longitude with a depth of 10 km. It was also 112 km northwest of Saumlaki, Maluku.
