BUSAN, Nov. 30 (Yonhap) -- G-Star 2009, South Korea's largest electronic gaming
expo, has drawn a record number of visitors, organizers said Monday.

The four-day event, which kicked off in the southern port city of Busan Thursday,
enjoyed a total of 240,809 visitors. G-star saw the highest number of visitors,
82,784, on its third day.
South Korean game makers including Mgame Corp. and Habitsoft Inc. have won $28.8
million worth of contracts during the event.
Among the 198 participating firms, hailing from 21 different countries, were star
U.S. developer Activision Blizzard Inc. and South Korean online game giants
NCsoft Corp., NHN Corp. and Nexon Co.
At the event, Activision BIizzard unveiled a playable version of Starcraft II,
which was one of G-Star's most highly anticipated draws.
"The success of the exhibition laid the foundation for the show to become a
world-renowned cyber game festival. We hope the event continues to grow as an
international event where game companies can communicate with each other," said
Lee Jae-woong, president of the Korea Creative Content Agency.
Over 180,000 people visited the expo last year, with 162 companies from 17
countries participating.
