DENGUE KILLS 10 IN SE SULAWESI


Kendari, SE Sulawesi, Nov 30 (ANTARA) - The spread of dengue fever in South East Sulawesi province in the January-November period this year has affected 486 patients, of whom 10 were killed, a health official said.

"Four of the dead patients died in Kendari city, three in Baubau city and three others in the districts of Bombana, Wakatobi and Kolaka," Chief of Southeast Sulawesi's Health Service, Amin Yohannis, said here on Monday.

The dengue fever cases this year dropped 150 percent if compared with those in the same period in 2008 which stood at 1,019 sufferers.

He said that of the 486 cases, 292 cases were found in Kendari city, 99 in Baubau city, 54 in in Kolaka, 24 in Konawe and 16 in Bombana.
