PRESIDENT EXPECTED TO DECIDE LNG SENORO MARKET

Palu, C Sulawesi, NOv 30 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is expected to decide whether Senoro`s liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Central Sulawesi will be exported or be sold for the domestic market, an oil and gas official said.

"The matter has been reported to the president. It depends on the president but so far no reply from the head of state has been received," spokesman of Pertamina-Medco E&P Tomori Joint Operation Body (JOB), Abdul Rahman Susilo said here on Monday.

He said that although the president had not yet made a decision on the market of its LNG product, the JOB Pertamina - Medco E&P Tomori Sulawesi (PMTS) went ahead to explore the LNG and natural gas potentials in Senoro-Toili Block.

"We are not affected with the absence of the decision now. We will continue to work for our production. Now we are going to lay down the pipeline networks. But we could not decide whether it would be distributed to PT DSLNG (Donggi Senoro Liquefied Natural Gas) or to PLN (state-owned power utility)," Susilo said.

He said that even though the president had not yet decided the market, the Upstream Oil ang Gas Regulating Body (BP Migas) was now holding a negotiation with PLN, the would-be domestic buyer.

If the president later decided that the LNG Senoro would be used to meet the domestic need, BP Migas would already have a domestic price standard.

"With regard to the price, it would depend on the PB Migas which has the full right to decide," Susilo added.
