Samsung Heavy wins $1.1 bln order for cruise ship
SEOUL, Dec. 1 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Heavy Industries Co., the world's
second-largest shipyard, said Tuesday that it has won a US$1.1 billion order to build a cruise ship for a U.S. company.
The deal with Utopia Residences, a U.S.-based cruise and hotel operator, calls
for the South Korean shipbuilder to deliver the vessel by 2013, it said in a
regulatory filing.
Samsung Heavy said it expects to sign the final contract during the first half of
next year.
