STX Engine wins 52.3 bln won order for diesel engines
SEOUL, Dec. 2 (Yonhap) -- STX Engine Co., a local machinery maker, said Wednesday it has secured a 52.3 billion won (US$45.3 million) order to supply eight diesel engines for Korea Coast Guard patrol ships.
The deal with Hanjin Heavy Industries Co. calls on STX Engine to deliver the
engines by August 2011, the company said in a statement.
STX Engine is a unit of STX Corp., a holding company which also owns STX Offshore
& Shipbuilding Co., the nation's fourth-largest shipbuilder.
In December, STX Engine clinched a 164 billion won deal to supply diesel engines
for Samsung Techwin Co. The company also recently won a 73.5 billion won deal
from the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), the country's defense
procurement agency.
Shares of STX Engine were trading at 16,350 won on the Seoul bourse as of 10:30
a.m., up 3.15 percent.
