Khammouane receives assistance for environment protection

(KPL) Khammouane province has received 502 million kip from the Environment Protection Fund.

The financial assistance will go seven environment-protection-related projects of the province.

The representatives of Environment Protection Fund and relevant authorities signed the agreement on the assistance last week in the province among the witness of Deputy Governor of Khammouane Mr. Odai Soudaphone and concern officials.

The projects to be supported with the sum of money include the establishment of handicraft group in Hinboun district, Bamboo Wood reservation in Mahasay, Three Forest reservation projects in Nhommalath district, Community Development and Environment Protection in Bualapha district, the Development of Tourism sites in Yommalath district, the environment report writing project in Khounekham village development cluster, Hinboune district, and the data collection for Khounse-Nongma Forest Reservation Project masterplan.

Excluding this package the Environment Protection Fund has provided financial assistance supporting 23 environment-related projects of various sectors in the province in an amount of 2.19 billion kip.

The fund has also committed to furthering assistance to the province for its environment protection related projects.
