Parties agree to open month-long extra parliamentary session

SEOUL, Dec. 3 (Yonhap) -- The nation's ruling and opposition parties on Thursday agreed to convene a month-long special parliamentary session, starting Dec. 10, to deliberate on next year's budget and other pending bills, party officials said.

The National Assembly on Wednesday missed a deadline to approve next year's
budget amid intense wrangling over politically sensitive issues, including a
proposed revision to plans for a new administrative city.
