Standing Vice Premier receives Chinese guest
June 3 (KPL)- Standing Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Somsavat Lengsavad, received a courtesy visit of Import-Export Bank of the People's Republic of China Director General Mr. Li Lougu.
Mr. Somsavat said that the visit to Laos of Mr. Li and his delegation would enhance the special ties and comprehensive co-operation between Laos and China, particularly the co-operation on social-economic development.
The investment in various areas in Laos by Chinese businesses during the recent years is very significant, especially in hydropower, agriculture and mining sectors. The investment has contributed to the socio-economic development of the government, particularly its poverty reduction of Lao ethnic people.
Mr. Li Lougu expressed thanks to the host for his warm welcome and informed the host of his fruitful activities in Laos.
