BEI INDEX CLOSES HIGHER ON REGIONAL BOURSE GAINS
Jakarta, Dec. 3 (ANTARA) - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) at the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) here on Thursday noon closed higher on regional bourse gains.
The BEI Index went up 12.22 points or 0.49 percent to 2,483.78 points.
The Indonesian stocks tended to remain static pending stronger incentives such as a release of year-end financial report, according to PT Valbury Asia Securities' research analyst, Khrisna Dwi Setiawan.
The BEI trading session was dominated by 70 shares that lost, 63 that advanced and 75 that remained static. The transaction volume was recorded at 2.691 billion shares from 43,944 times of transactions worth Rp1.572 trillion.
At regional bourses, Hang Seng index rose 137.45 points or 0.62 percent to 22,427.02, Nikkei 225 index went up 294.91 or 3.07 percent to 9,903.85, and Singapore's Strait Time index fell 2.14 points or 0.08 percent to 2,794.20 points.
At the BEI, among top gainers were United Tractor (UNTR) shares that rose Rp 200 to Rp 15,300, PGN (PGAS) shares that added Rp 125 to Rp 3,925, Astra International (ASII) shares that advanced Rp 100 to Rp 32,650, PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) shares that went up Rp 400 to Rp 17,600.
In the morning trading, the Indonesian stocks got off to a strong start and traded 12.712 points or 0.48 percent higher to 2,482.026 points and the LQ-45 index went up 2.236 points or 0.46 percent to 491.207 points.***
