GOVT CLAIMS SUCCESS IN FIRST 30 DAYS

Jakarta, Dec 4 (ANTARA) - The government has claimed that its performance in the first 30 days had been satisfying, proven by the implementation of most of the action plans in the period.

The chief of the President's Working Unit for Development Supervision and Control (UKP4), Kuntoro Mangkusubroto, said after a cabinet meeting here on Friday that of 131 action plans planned for implementation in the first 100 days of the term only three that had been considered less satisfying in the last 30 days.

"In general all of them have been carried out satisfactorily in the past 30 days because only three out of 131 are considered not satisfying," he said.

Kuntoro who has been charged to supervise the implementation of the government's programs in the first 100 days of the term did not tell about the three action plans that had not been satisfying.

"I forget about them," he said.

He only said that two of them were about public welfare and the other in the field of economy.

He said the president did not give special directives in the meeting to evaluate the cabinet's performance so far.

He only asked the ministers to conduct improvements before the next evaluation to be done later on the first 50 days of the term.

"We did not talk about what had to be done. I think the ministers could accept it and would use it as the basis for making improvements so that on the first 50 days later the achievement could be made better," he said.

Coordinating minister for the economy Hatta Radjasa meanwhile said that one action plan in the economic sector that was not yet satisfying was about energy resilience.

"It does not mean it will not be finished because the time for it is 100 days. Unlike others it cannot be measured within 30 days," he said.

Hatta said the solution of energy resilience was complicated because it covered fulfillment of domestic needs and also dealt with energy supply for various industrial sectors.

"If the parameter for measuring the achievement in the first 30 days is percentage it will not be applicable. It is not a failure but it needs time. May be later the minister of energy and mineral resources would achieve the peak after 6o days because energy resilience is a complex matter," he said.

The government in November 2009 set 131 action plans for the implementation of its 45 programs in the first 100 days of the term. The plans are coordinated by the coordinating ministers for political, security and legal affairs, the economy and people's welfare.

To monitor its implementation the President set up the UKP4.
