RI SUPPORTS POLITICAL SETTLEMENT IN AFGHANISTAN

Jakarta, Dec 4 (ANTARA) - Indonesia supports a political settlement involving all components in Afghanistan, Foreign Ministry spokesman Teuku Faizasyah said here on Friday.

"What we support is the spirit to find a political settlement involving all components in Afghanistan," he said when asked to comment on the recent decision of the US government to send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan.

He did not comment more on ways the US government would take to settle the Afghanistan problem.

He also refused to comment on the surge of US troops in Afghanistan.

The Afghanistan government hailed the decision of President Obama to send additional troops to that country.
