PRESIDENT SIGNS DECISION ON REINSTATEMENT OF CHANDRA AND BIBIT

Jakarta, Dec 6 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has summoned Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra Hamzah to inform them that a Presidential Decree on the reinstatement of them as Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputy leaders had been signed.

Presidential special staff for legal affairs Denny Indrayana said in Jakarta Sunday both Bibit and Chandra were summoned by the President Sunday afternoon at the State Palace in Jakarta.

"This afternoon the President met Chandra and Bibit to inform them that he has already signed the Presidential Decree on their reinstatement," Denny said.

He added that on the occasion the President congratulated both of them for their reinstatement as KPK deputy chairmen.

"The President found time to meet Chandra and Bibit to tell them they they need to continue assisting the Head of State in corruption eradication," Denny said.

President Yudhoyono, he added, hoped corruption eradication is carried out in three main aspects, namely prevention, action, and saving state assets.

The President has also relieved Mas Ahmad Santoso and Waluyo, now that Bibit and Chandra are now back as KPK deputy chairmen.
