Indian businessman rescued in Philippine



Kuala Lumpur, Dec 6 (PTI) An abducted Indian
businessman was rescued by Philippine commandos after they
killed six of his suspected kidnappers in two separate
gunbattle near Manila.

Six suspected kidnappers were killed in Bulacan
province in the north of capital city as police rescued an
Indian businessman, an official said Sunday.
In the first encounter, three suspects were killed
authorities raided the kidnappers hide-out in Calumpit town,
Senior Superintendent Diosdado Ramos, Bulacan police
provincial director, said.
Mamia Singh, an Indian national, was rescued unhurt,
Ramos was quoted as saying by Philippine star.
Three other suspects, who left the gang's hideout two
hours before the raid, were killed in a shootout with security
personnel at Brgy Caniogan, also in Calumpitwhen, after the
police intercepted the Toyota Innova, owned by the victim,
which kidnappers were driving.
Singh, who has a money-lending company, was kidnapped
Friday in Manila's suburban Quezon city by four gunmen, who
also took his van. The kidnappers later demanded a large
