Families of dead fire victims to get 500,000 rbls--Putin.

PERM, December 8 (Itar-Tass) - The families of those who died in the recent night club fire in Perm will receive 500,000 roubles while those injured will get 400,000 roubles each, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin announced at a meeting with the authorities here on Tuesday.

The meeting is dealing with aid to those who were injured in the fire.

.RF govt to suggest changes to Criminal Code soon--Putin.

PERM, December 8 (Itar-Tass) - The Government of the Russian
Federation will soon make proposals on amendments to the Code of
Administrative Offences (CAO), and the Criminal Code in order to raise the
responsibility of businesses.
Putin told those present at a meeting of officials here on Tuesday,
"We must refined the existing legislation. Propoals will be made soon to
amend the CAO and the Criminal Code".

.PT med institutions lacked sufficient drugs, eqt--Putin.

PERM, December 8 (Itar-Tass) - The medical institutions of the Perm
Territory lacked a sufficient amount of therapeutic drugs and equipment in
order to treat people even in ordinary conditions, Prime Minister Vladimir
Putin noted.
Speaking at a meeting with officials here on Tuesday, Putin said,
"According to reports of the Ministry of Health and Social Development,
the health care system of the Territoty lacked even what it should have
had".

.PM says conclusions on PT fire prevention must be drawn.

PERM, December 8 (Itar-Tass) - Prime Minister Vladimir Putin considers
that it is essential "to draw the necessary conclusions at deparmtental
level in view of the state of affairs in the field of fire prevention in
the PermTerritory.
"Both the Minister for Emergencies, and the Prosecutor-General have
been repeatedly drawing attention throughout the year to the need to take
measures to ensure the safety of people in crowded places and prevent fire
hazards. Three intra-republican hook-up conferences were even held but to
no avail," Putin told officials at a meeting here on Tuesday.
"Investigators will subsequently draw their conclusions but I expect
that the necessary conclusions will be already drawn at departmental
level (earlier than that)," Putin emphasized.

.Putin to tour UFD Tue, discuss def sector situation.

MOSCOW, December 8 (Itar-Tass) - Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is to
make a working tour of the Ural Federal District (UFD) where he will carry
on a series of meetings with officials at the Uralvagonzavod in Nizhny
Tagil to discuss the defence sector state of affairs in detail and
determine prospects for the development of the various branches of the
sector.
An official in the government press service said those present at a
meeting in Nizhny Tagil are to consider matters concerning the provision
of Russia's Armed Forces with modern specimens of armaments and military
hardware, discuss the state of affairs in the armour engineering, and
review the implementation of a number of other production programmes.
Vice-Premier Sergei Ivanov, Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov,
Minister of Economic Development Elvira Nabiullina, Minister of Industry
and Trade Viktor Khristenko, and Sergei Chemezov, Director-General of the
Rostekhnologii State Corporation, will also take part in the meeting.
The Uralvagonzavod machine building company is one of the leading
enterprises on the international market of armour engineering. The new
generation of Russian tanks -- the missile-and-gun T-90 with
rocket-assisted armour and an optico-electronic system for the suppression
of enemy fire -- by the aggregate of combat and technical
characteristics is both up to the best tanks of other countries and in
many parameters even excels them.
During his tour of the UFD, Putin will also visit the Ural railway
engineering plant (UREP) in the city of Verkhnyaya (upper) Pyshma.
The UREP now turns out freight mainline d.c. locomotives with
collector traction engine 2ES6 and modernises freight d.c freight
locomotives VL11. The Russian Railways Company is the main user of the
UREP output.

.Moscow City Economics Days to open in Hesse Tue.

WIESBADEN, December 8 (Itar-Tass) - The traditional Days of the Moscow
City Economics in Hesse begin here on Tuesday with a forum on scientific,
technical and industrial cooperation.
A widely representative Russian delegation, led by Yuri Roslyak, First
Deputy Mayor of Moscow, has arrived here to participate in joint
activities within the framework of the Days.
Participants in the forum are to focus on such subjects as the
development of Moscow as financial center, nano- and bio technologies,
energy and resource-saving in the municipal economy, the development of
health care, and medical equipment and technologies. These subjects are to
be discussed at roundtable meetings, including a visiting one at the
famous international health resort Bad Homburg.
The Moscow city delegation will tour a number of Hesse firms and
enterprises, including the Frankfurt-based industrial park Hochst, the
Landtag (parliament) of Hesse, and hold negotiations with promising
business partners.
Roslyak is to meet with Hesse Minister-President Roland Koch and
Dieter Posch, Land Minister of Economics, Transport, and Development, and
other prominen Hesse politicians.
The Moscow City Economics Days are to come to a close on December 10.
