Russian MiG aircraft corporation supplies India with deck fighters.

MOSCOW, December 8 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian Aircraft Corporation
(RAC) MiG supplied India with the first batch of MiG-29K/KUB deck
fighters. Additional deliveries of MiG-29K/KUB fighters will be made under
a schedule, agreed upon with the Indian side, says a report by the
corporation, as quoted by Prime-Tass.

The comprehensive contract on supplying the Indian navy with
multifunctional ship-based fighters was signed on January 20, 2004. The
contract provides for the delivery of 12 one-seat planes MiG-29K and four
two-seat MiG-29KUB as well as training of pilots and service personnel of
the customer, delivery of simulators, spares and organisation of plane
servicing.
The one-seat MiG-29K and two-seat MiG-29 KUB are multifunctional
ship-based fighters, designed to tackle tasks of air defence of task
forces, air supremacy, hitting of surface and land targets with guided
high-precision and conventional weapons at daytime and night as well as
under any weather conditions.
The first flight of the test MiG-29KUB fighter was held on January 20,
2007, while the first serial aircraft was made airborne on March 18, 2008.
