ANOTHER 9 INDONESIAN HAJJ PILGRIMS DIE IN SAUDI ARABIA
Jedda, Dec 9 (ANTARA) - Nine more Indonesian hajj pilgrims have died since Monday, bringing to 228 the number of the country`s hajj pilgrim deaths during their journey of worship in Saudi Arabia this year.
The nine were identified as Rabbana (77), Aisyah (58), A Hanifah Ibrahim (43), Saripah (74), Mustafa Hasan (63), Baeduri
Baharudin (62), Wismarini Zanir (46), Moh. Baisuni AK
(71) and Karjo (86), the Religious Affairs Ministry`s integrated hajj communications system (Siskohat) unit said on Wednesday.
Rabbana, Aisyah, and Wismarini died of respiratory failure, and Hanifah, Saripah, Mustafa, Baisuni and Karjo died of heart disease.
All the bodies have been buried at Syarafa public cemetery in Mecca.
More than 196,100 Indonesians performed hajj pilgrimage this year. They were flown to the Holy Land in 475 batches.
Islam obliges its adherents who can afford it to perform the hajj pilgrimage at least once during their lifetime.
