TMII RECEIVES AROUND 500 FOREIGN TOURISTS PER MONTH

Bekasi, West Java, Dec. 10 (ANTARA) - The Beautiful Indonesia in Miniature Park (TMII) in east Jakarta is visited by an average of 500 foreign tourists , or 10 percent of the total number of visitors per month.

Most of the foreigners so far came from Malaysia, China, Japan, South Korea and Singapore, Jerry Lahama, a spokesman of TMII said here Thursday.

The number of visitors to TMII was relatively stable and not affected by the financial crisis or security problems, he said.

TMII is a culture-based recreational area located in an area of about 250 acres. The park is a synopsis of Indonesian culture, with virtually all aspects of daily life in Indonesia's 33 provinces encapsulated in separate pavilions with the collections of architecture, clothing, dances and traditions.
