Karuna showers praise on Sonia

Chennai, Dec 9 (PTI) Greeting Congress party President
Sonia Gandhi on her birthday, Tamil Nadu (India's southern
state) Chief Minister M Karunanidhi Wednesday said the United
Progressive Alliance (UPA) government has "set a role model"
for coalition governments in Indian politics.

"I wish you many more happy returns of the day.The country
has been making tremendous strides and the UPA government at
the Centre has set a role model for a coalition government in
Indian politics," Karunanidhi, whose party the Dravida
Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) is a key component of the UPA
dispensation, said.
In his birthday greetings, Karunanidhi said the Congress
party under Gandhi's leadership had been winning many laurels.
Her concern for the common man, cutting across religious
and regional barriers, was "really admirable," the DMK
patriarch said and greeted her on behalf of the people of the
state, wishing her a "very long life, full of happiness." PTI
