Volvo to recall 214 vehicles in S. Korea

SEOUL, Dec. 10 (Yonhap) -- Global automaker Volvo said Thursday it will recall
214 vehicles sold in South Korea because of defective engine control units.

Subject to the recall are 2008 and 2009 XC70 models produced between March 10 and
Oct. 10 last year, Volvo said.
According to an inspection report released by the Ministry of Environment,
defects in the car's engine control software may produce nitrogen oxides in
excess of the permitted limit.
Premier Automotive Group Korea, Volvo's local dealer, will fix the defect on the
two models for free at its service centers starting Friday.
