Doosan Heavy commercializes 1,000 MW turbine rotor

SEOUL, Dec. 10 (Yonhap) -- Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., South
Korea's leading power equipment maker, said Thursday that it has succeeded in
commercializing a 1,000 megawatt turbine rotor.
Doosan Heavy was picked by the government in 2003 to seek the localization of a
large turbine rotor. Doosan developed a technology related to the production of
the turbine rotor in 2006.
So far, South Korean companies have imported turbine rotors.
Shares of Doosan Heavy were trading at 62,200 won on the Seoul bourse as of 11:03
a.m., up 1.80 percent.
