Seoul stocks almost flat late morning

SEOUL, Dec. 10 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded almost unchanged late
Thursday morning after the central bank kept its interest rate steady at a record
low, analysts said.
In tight range-bound trading, the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index
(KOSPI) shed 0.55 point, or 0.03 percent, to trade at 1,633.62 as of 11:20 a.m.
The Bank of Korea earlier in the morning kept its policy rate steady at record
low 2 percent for the 10th month. The bank cited uncertainty surrounding the
country's recovery path.
Foreign and retail investors were net buyers while institutional buyers increased
their net selling.
The local currency was trading at 1,162.00 won against the U.S. dollar, down 0.20
won from Wednesday's close.
