Daewoo Engineering wins $149 mln order for port extension in Algeria

SEOUL, Dec. 10 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's top builder Daewoo Engineering &
Construction Co. said Thursday it has received a US$149 million order to expand
an existing port in Algeria.
Under the deal with the Algerian ministry of transport, Daewoo Engineering &
Construction will soon break ground for the construction of the port expansion.
Daewoo Engineering & Construction's order in Algeria has amounted to $1.35
billion since the company reentered the Algerian market last year.
The builder's shares rose 0.81 percent to 12,400 won as of 11:30 p.m. on the
Seoul bourse.
