RUPIAH TENDS TO BE STABLE IN AFTERNOON TRADING
Jakarta, Dec. 10 (ANTARA) - The rupiah tended to be stable against the US dollar in the Jakarta interbank spot market here on Thursday afternoon.
The Indonesian currency traded Rp9,430-Rp9,440 per US dollar, up five points from Rp9,435-Rp9,440 per US dollar at the market's close a day earlier.
"Investors were worried over Wednesday's rallies that might continue. They were reluctant to go out and preferred to stay home," Michael Andi Surya, an analyst of PT Valbury Asia Securities, said.
He was optimistic that the rupiah would move upward as foreign investors were still confident about Indonesia and expected to place more funds in the mining and banking sectors particularly, he said.***
