Seoul stocks open 0.11 pct lower on profit locking

SEOUL, Dec. 11 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks opened slightly lower Friday on profit taking, analysts said.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) dropped 1.77 point, or
0.11 percent, to trade at 1,650.96 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
The key index has risen for eight of the past nine trading sessions, posting a
combined gain of 8.4 percent.
The local currency was trading at 1,162.29 won to the U.S. dollar as of 9:15
a.m., up 2.6 won from Thursday's close.
