S. Korean stocks may rise next week
SEOUL, Dec. 12 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stock prices will likely extend their
gains next week amid expectations of a year-end rally and higher corporate
earnings, analysts said Saturday.
"Because of rising expectations of better corporate earnings and ample demand,
such momentum is highly likely to lead the market next week," said Hyundai
Securities analyst Bae Seong-young.
But the pace could be moderate as profit-takers are likely to cash in on rapid
gains recorded since early this month, Bae said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 1.98 percent, or
32.14 points, to close at 1,656.90 on Friday, marking its second weekly gain.
