CHINESE DELEGATION MEETS YOGYAKARTA DEPUTY GOVERNOR

Yogyakarta, Dec 11 (ANTARA) - Eight members of a Chinese delegation met Yogyakarta Deputy Governor Paku Alam IX at Gedhong Pare Anom, Kepatihan Complex, Yogyakarta, Friday.

The Chinese delegation led by Chen Shi'in met Paku Alam IX after attending the 4th Technical Committee Meeting on RI-China Maritime Cooperation".

"Yogyakarta has advantages in both tourism and culture. Yogyakarta's economy is also growing rapidly," said Chen Shi'in who was Chinese ambassador to Indonesia.

According to Chen, while he was ambassador, he often visited Yogyakarta, because the city has famous cultural attractions such as Prambanan temple and the Palace, which have become biggest attractions for foreign tourists, including Chinese.

"Yogyakarta can do a lot of cooperation with many provinces in China, by forming friendship ties," he said.

Meanwhile, Paku Alam IX said that Indonesia and China have good relations for a long time, "now we have to develop inter-regional relations".

"We hope that China can provide information to its provinces which have a potential to build sister province relations and cooperation with Yogyakarta," he said.
