Child trafficking victims reduce Lindsay Lohan to tears
Kolkata, Dec 12 (PTI) Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan
was so moved after listening to the heart-wrenching tales of
child trafficking victims that she could not stop crying.
"I have had so many memorable experiences in my life.
But I think this is the best moment. I will never forget
this," an emotional Lohan, on a visit to India to shoot for a
documentary on child trafficking, told inmates of 'Sanlaap',
an NGO at Narendrapur, on the outskirts of the city Friday.
During her stay, the 23-year-old starlet interviewed
five girls, all rescued from child traffickers, for the BBC
documentary and wept each time she heard their tales of woe.
"She cried each time the girls told their stories. But
she began wailing when 12-year-old girl Gilhori narrated her
story sitting on her lap. We never imagined that this would
happen. Even her make-up got washed as tears filled her
cheeks," a source present at the spot told PTI.
Gilhori was forced to beg around in trains by her
parents before being rescued by the NGO, which houses young
women and girls who were victims of trafficking and other
forms of exploitation, a year before.
"The child also liked her so much that she didn’t
want to go out from her lap. She promised Lohan to study
properly," he said. (MORE) PTI
