STX Europe wins deal to build 2 vessels

SEOUL, Dec. 13 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's STX Group said Sunday that its European
unit has won a 183 billion won (US$157 million) deal to build two vessels.
Under the deal with Siem Offshore of Norway, STX Europe AS will build two
platform supply vessels at the unit's yard in Brazil.

A platform supply vessel is a specially designed ship to transport goods and
personnel to and from offshore oil platforms.
STX Europe has won a series of deals recently to build vessels that include a
polar supply and research vessel, ice-breaker tugs and a military transport ship.
