S. Korean exports to Lybia set to reach record high this year: report
SEOUL, Dec. 13 (Yonhap) -- South Korean exports to Lybia are expected to reach a
record high this year, led by brisk sales of automobiles and construction
equipment, a trade promotion agency said Sunday.
According to the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), South Korea's
shipments to the Arab country amounted to US$976 million in the first 10 months
of the year, up 63 percent from a year earlier.
The figure also topped last year's total exports of $820 million to Lybia, it
said, adding that annual exports to the country are likely to top $1.1 billion.
Exports of automobiles led the robust sales reaching $430 million in the first 10
months of the year. The reading accounted for 43 percent of the total.
Sales of construction equipment in Lybia also surged as a slew of South Korean
companies won massive construction projects, it said.
