S. Korea to send delegation to China for intellectual property rights

SEOUL, Dec. 13 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's intellectual property agency said Sunday
that it plans to send a delegation to China this week to urge the protection of
intellectual property rights owned by South Korean companies.

The delegation, comprised of officials from the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion
Agency (KOTRA) and 14 companies, will visit China's State Intellectual Office and
other intellectual property rights-related agencies to discuss the matter,
according to the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO).
"South Korean companies are facing difficulty in doing business in China because
their intellectual property rights are infringed upon," said an official at the
KIPO. "The delegations is expected to help set up a communication channel for the
protection of intellectual property rights of Korean companies."
