LEAD: Hatoyama to deny involvement in fund irregularities+

TOKYO, Dec. 14 Kyodo - Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama is expected to submit a written statement to prosecutors in a couple of days denying involvement in the issue of false political fund reporting by his fund management body, sources familiar with the case said Monday.

His mother, meanwhile, has already submitted such a statement denying
involvement but the Tokyo prosecutors have not formally accepted it, citing
insufficient contents, and requested a further explanation, they said.
Based on these statements, the prosecutors are expected to have consultations
soon with higher officials.
The prosecutors are expected to indict a former aide of Hatoyama sometime next
week without arresting him, and not to indict the premier due to insufficient
evidence.
Hatoyama's 87-year-old mother allegedly provided him with more than 1 billion
yen over six years up to 2008, some of which is believed to have been recorded
as political donations from fictitious donors in his political funds reports.
The main opposition Liberal Democratic Party has been stepping up its criticism
of the Hatoyama government over the issue.
The prime minister plans to explain in his statement that he entrusted the
issue of political fund reporting to the 59-year-old aide, who was in charge of
accounting at his fund management body and has since been sacked, and that he
had no knowledge of the false declarations, the sources said.
His mother in her statement said she did not know what the money she provided
would be used for, they said.
Kunio Hatoyama, the premier's younger brother and a former internal affairs and
communications minister, also received political funds from their mother.
