MINISTER: RI'S ECONOMY TO PERFORM BETTER NEXT YEAR
Jakarta, Dec 14 (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has expressed optimism the domestic economy in 2010 will grow at a faster pace than this year's.
"I believe the Indonesian economy will perform better next year," she said after the signing of loan agreements between state electricity company PT PLN and a number of banks here on Monday.
If banks managed to maintain their soundness and channel credits up to more than 15 percent of the target for 2010, the economy would perform better next year, she said.
"Channel credits to good projects. Make sure that credit agreements are signed properly so that banks will not have difficulties collecting the debts," she said.
Banks should study how to manage their businesses well so as not to cause problems to many people in the future, she said.
