UNRWA Chief pays tribute to Arab Donors
United Nations, December 16, SPA -- The head of the agency that assists Palestinian
refugees paid tribute to the generosity of Arab countries for supporting its works
over the past sixty years.
Karen AbuZayd, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works
Agency (UNRWA), spoke Sunday at a special session of the Arab League to mark
UNRWA’s 60th anniversary.
Arab countries have made “enormous sacrifices, political as well as economic and
social,” to support the 4.7 million Palestinian refugees, the UNRWA chief said.
