President Saleh meets head of IRCICA
SANA'A, Dec. 16 (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah
Saleh met here on Wednesday with the head of the Research Centre for Islamic
History,
Art and Culture (IRCICA) Dr. Khaled Irn.
Dr. Irn briefed President Saleh on the IRCICA activities, particularly verification
of a copy of the Holy Qoran written by Imam Ali bin Abi Talib existed in the Grand
Mosque
in the Sana'a, which is verifying currently in the IRCICA.
He presented President Saleh a copy of Holy Qoran of Caliph Othman Bin Affan
existing currently in the Topkapi Museum in Istanbul. De Irn gave the President a
copy of a
Book "al-Quds through Images" from the archives of Sultan Abdul Hamid II.
President Saleh praised the high-level ties linked the two brotherly countries
Yemen and Turkey, particularly in cultural and documentation areas, valuing the
IRCICA efforts
in verifying a copy of the Holy Qoran written by Imam Ali bin Abi Talib.
Dr. Khaled Irn is visiting Yemen now to take part in the international symposium on
the Yemen in the Ottoman era held in Sana'a. The symposium is organized by the
National
Documentation Center and the IRCICA.
Istanbul-based IRCICA started was established in 1980 as the first subsidiary organ
of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) concerned with culture.
