CONTENT PROVIDER INDUSTRY EXPECTED TO GROW 30 PCT
Jakarta, Dec 16 (ANTARA) - The value of content provider industries in the country is estimated to grow by 30 percent in 2010 from a projected value of Rp2.5 trillion in 2009, an observer said.
"Content business is expected to increase by 20-30 percent next year," Khris Pribadi, vice president of Digital Music and Content Management of Telkomsel, said here on Wednesday.
He said that content business would be robust in the coming years in line with the development of technology. But it would also face a number of obstacles in the form of tight competition.
Therefore, he said, content provider industries should be creative in creating attractive content products.
He said that of the existing 160 million new telecommunications customers, only about 10 million or less than 7 percent, had actively enjoyed content services.
Of the 80 million cellular phone customers, only about 20 million down loaded content products provided by about 130 million content providers, he said.***
