Korean seafood exporters sign US$1.03 mln deal in China

SEOUL, Dec. 17 (Yonhap) -- Eight South Korean seafood companies have signed a
US$1.03 million deal to export seafood to China at an international exposition,
government officials said Thursday.

"Demand for South Korean seafood is increasing in China thanks to the growing
number of Chinese people who prefer seaweed and fish produced in South Korea,"
said an official at the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
The Shanghai International Fisheries & Seafood Exposition 2009 was held in
Shanghai, China from Dec. 9-12.
