S. Korea seeks new overseas software markets
SEOUL, Dec. 17 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's state-run trade promotion agency said
Thursday that it has signed a preliminary deal with the country's software
industry association to increase software exports.
Under the deal signed earlier in the day, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion
Agency (KOTRA) will combine forces to find new overseas software markets with the
Korea Software Industry Association (KOSA), the trade agency said.
"We will make every effort to boost exports of high value added software," said
Kwak Dong-woon, executive vice president for marketing at KOTRA.
South Korea's software exports amounted to US$5.7 billion in 2008, accounting for
only 3 percent of exports from India, KOTRA said.
