S. Korea's human rights watchdog may also cover North

SEOUL, Dec. 17 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's human rights watchdog indicated Thursday
it may extend its analysis of North Korean human rights concerns.
There is currently just one official monitoring North Korean human rights issues
inside the organization. But the commission's director has requested more
manpower.
"It is nonsense that the Human Rights Commission does not deal with North Korea's
problems," said Hyun Byung-chul, head of the National Human Rights Commission of
Korea (NHRCK), at a press conference.
But both the method of analysing North Korea's situation and advising it on its
human rights issue are complex problems, Hyun added.
