Yemen Refutes Us Involvement In Military Operations In North

sana'a, dec. 17 (saba) - yemen has refuted alleges reported by the
rebels in the northern governorate of sa'ada that the us warplanes
are taking part in the military operations there, the military-run
26 september said on thursday.

"it is false rumour" a military source said. it is just an attempt
to justify their defeats, indicating to al-houthi rebels.

houthi rebels have alleged that the us air forces have launched
air-strikes on the northern regions in the country.

meanwhile, the army is continuing to take rebel strongholds, destroy
hideouts and cars with weapons and foil rebel attempts of
infiltration.

fighting against al-houthi loyalists has erupted in the mid of
august between government forces and supporters of rebel leader
abdul-malik al-houthi in sa'ada.

this is the sixth conflict between the government forces and the
rebels in the on-and-off war between yemeni troops and al-houthi
insurgents in sa'ada governorate since 2004, which killed thousands
of people, soldiers and insurgents the governorate that is located
close to border with saudi arabia.

saudi arabia began its offensive more than two months after the
yemeni government launched its military operations to crush the
fighters in the mountainous north.

saudi arabia involvement in the confrontations was on november 3rd,
when a group of rebels entered saudi arabia and attacked saudi
police, killing one of them.

the yemeni government accuses the houthi group of trying to
reinstall the rule of imamate, which was toppled by a republican
revolution in northern yemen in 1962.
