RUPIAH WEAKENS AGAINST US DOLLAR
Jakarta, Dec. 17 (ANTARA) - The rupiah weakened against the US dollar in the Jakarta interbank spot market here Thursday.
The Indonesian currency traded Rp9,480-Rp9,495 per US dollar, down 20 points from Rp9,460-Rp9,470 per US dollar at the market`s close a day earlier.
Investors were worried over the Bank Century bailout case which has prolonged and dragged a number of parties, according to Farial Anwar, a domestic money market observer.
He predicted that the rupiah would reach the level of Rp9,500 due to the negative sentiment domestically.
