Ramesh, who had visited China twice in the last three
months, said the two countries had a partnership agreement on
climate change.
"In Copenhangen, the Chinese envoy and I have been
meeting almost every two hours. Our delegations are
coordinating our positions.
"We are speaking with one voice and I think the big
gain as far as this conference is concerned is the
solidarity...The remarkable solidarity between India and
China," he said.
Referring to the coordinated action of BASIC
countries (Brazil, South Africa, India and China), G-77 and
Africa at the conference, Ramesh said one the commitments
extracted during a meeting with the Danish Prime Minister
was on resumption of negotiations.
"Now the two track negotiating process has been
resumed, drafting groups have been set up and a mandate has
been given for the brackets to be removed. We will have two
texts--on long term cooperation under the Framework
Convention and a text on the Kyoto Protocol. These will be
given to the heads of state and there will be some political
declaration," he said. PTI
