Parliament summons govt to clarify recent attack against al-Qaeda
SANA'A, Dec.20 (Saba) - The parliament summoned on Sunday the government to give more clarifications on the developments of the current situation in the country and its consequences.
In its session, the parliament approved inviting Deputy Prime Minister for Security
and Defense Affairs and Minister of Defense to attend its Monday session to present
more
explanations on the recent successful security operation carried out by the security
forces against al-Qaeda terrorists in Arahab district north of the capital Sana'a
and
in the southern province of Abyan.
The parliament urged the government to enhance the accuracy of its targets and
avoid any error when carrying out any operations associated to pursuing the
terrorists, insurgents
and outlaw elements.
Early on Thursday, anti-terrorism troops launched ground and air strikes against
al-Qaeda hideouts and training sites in Abyan in the south and in Sana'a in the
north killing
and arresting about 51 al Qaeda suspects including some 'would-be suiciders'.
